John is the holder of a Scottish law degree and an MBA and his work
experience has spanned both the client and agency sides of the fence.
On the client side, he started work at Cadbury’s and had
a spell, later in his career, as Head of Brand at Safeway.
It was during his time at Safeway, when he led a programme of complete
brand change, both internal and external, that he first started
working with what was to become EnterpriseIG. Previous agency side
experience had included working with Brand New, part of the Michael
Peters’ Group, but it was the opportunity to repeat the sort
of change that had been achieved at Safeway with other organisations
that cemented John’s move to the agency world. John has also
spent a couple of years at Fitch, as Managing Director.
John’s agency experience has ranged from creating the Sheffield
Supertram brand to helping reposition BP as a ‘Positive Energy’
organisation to creating a new retail/service model for Belgium’s
post office network.
In his current role at EnterpriseIG John is responsible for managing
the day to day running of the two London office sites ( in Farringdon
and Hampton Wick ) as well as having Client Director responsibilities
for clients ranging from Masterfoods, SABMiller and Ministry of
Sound.
John is also a Director of the Design Business Association, the
organisation dedicated to showing the effectiveness of design as
a business tool.
John took over the role of DBA President in October 2003.
