Nick heads up Elmwood’s Scottish office having
recently joined from Pure, where he held the position of Business
Development Director. A native of Hull, schooling at Hymers College
was followed by a Land Management degree at Reading University and
work as a chartered surveyor with the Greater London Council and
St Quintin, servicing property investment clients including Royal
Sun Alliance, Legal and General and NPI.
The successful move into design management followed a stint of
overseas travel and a yearning to combine existing business experience
with a desire to contribute more creatively. Whilst living in London
(13 years in total), initial design grounding was with Union, MetaDesign
and Identity before a relocation to Edinburgh in 1999. The move
to head-up Elmwood’s Scottish office in the Summer of 2003
has consolidated a second phase career in design and plans are being
implemented for a significant expansion in that office. An experienced
Account Director, New Business Developer and Business Manager, Nick’s
varied clients have included Aston Martin, Silverstone, Cambridge
University Press, Glenmorangie, Scottish Enterprise, UK Trade and
Investment, National Museums of Scotland, BBC, Robert Wiseman Dairies,
Glasgow School of Art, Rangers FC and Heriot-Watt University.
Outside work, his interests include sports, the arts, travel, music
and literature, he is director of the Scottish Book Trust, active
member of Creative Edinburgh and is currently attending the Common
Purpose Edinburgh Matrix.
