In response to policy changes throughout the education system, the Design Commission has launched an inquiry that is seeking to establish the economic and social rationale for design education, both specialised and embedded in other disciplines.
We believe that a stronger role for design throughout the education system is critical to helping the UK to continue to compete economically the inquiry will be testing this hypothesis, and looking to examples set by other nations.
The DBA was approached by the Design Commission to respond to their inquiry and we wanted to ensure that our response reflected the views of our members, so asked members to share their thoughts on some key questions that the Commission is looking into.
