A key role of the DBA is to represent the interests of the UK design industry, and in particular our members, in the wider world. We connect and collaborate with a range of organizations, associations and government bodies in order to facilitate change in areas of importance to the industry.
We have built trusted relationships within Government at a National and European level.
In the UK we have supported the Associated Parliamentary Design and Innovation Group (APDIG) since 2006, and we continue to play an intrinsic role in inquiries, round table discussions and seminars at the House of Commons, all with the aim of getting design and the issues the industry faces, to the very heart of Government. The DBA also has a close relationship with the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA) and the European Design Innovation Initiative, to the end goal of influencing design policy within the European Commission. We are also delivering a key project with European partners, which will ultimately enable better design management by governments across Europe. Read more on the DBA’s work in Europe.
