Important news: DBA Design Effectiveness Awards
Important news from the DBA regarding the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards. The new entry deadline is on 30 November 2018.
Why the change?
Since 1989 the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards has spearheaded the case for design’s transformative impact on business, public services and people’s lives.
In 1989 Margaret Thatcher was still prime minister, the world celebrated the toppling of the Berlin Wall, and Apple released its first ‘portable’ Macintosh computer. A lot has changed since then, not just in the wider world, but design’s role in business too.
And that’s why – for its 30th anniversary year – we’re revamping the DBA Design Effectiveness Awards to be fully reflective of design’s changing dynamic and increasingly integral role at the heart of business.
Whether you’re a seasoned entrant to the Design Effectiveness Awards or a first-timer, we’d like to invite you to join us for the ride, to deliver the biggest celebration yet of the power of design. It’s your work and its impact that will enable us all, as an industry, to demonstrate the true reach and capabilities of design; to irrefutably prove to Business and Government why design is a critical strategic and economic asset.
The November entry deadline gives you even more time to get the ball rolling talking to your team, clients and collaborators about the effective work you could enter. The Call for Entries will be launched on 10 September 2018 and the new entry pack – overhauled for this year – will have all the information you’ll need to collate your submissions in line with the changes mentioned above.
Key dates for your diary:
10 September 2018: Call for Entries launch
30 November 2018: Entry deadline
April 2019: Shortlist announced
June 2019: 30th anniversary DBA Design Effectiveness Awards ceremony
We’re very excited by the changes afoot and the opportunity they’ll provide to evidence the transformative power of design and grow design’s role in business.
