Regardless
of the number of employees you have, care is needed to ensure
they all have employment contracts that meet the legal requirements.
Whilst consultancies may have contracts in place, many are
unaware of how to use them effectively in the workplace. Employment
policies and processes are vital to protecting your business
against litigation, and correctly defined contracts are central
to this.
The
accompanying seminar at the launch provided guidance on how
to make contracts of employment work for businesses. It included
advice for the many employers who also use freelancers or
self-employed contractors and showed how to avoid employment
pitfalls. Also on the agenda was the hot topic of the Age
Discrimination Act, due to be introduced in October 2006.
